Sherry Cobbler No. 1

1 tea-spoon gum syrup

An ingredient commonly used in mixed drinks. Like bar syrups, it is a sugar and water mixture, but has an added ingredient of gum arabic which acts as an emulsifier.

2 jigger sherry wine

Ingredient: sherry wine

What it is:  Sherry
Fortified wine made from white grapes that are grown near the town of Jerez, Spain. In Spanish, it is called vino de Jerez. Typically dry, "fino" sherry when only the generic name is used.

Fill an eight-ounce glass full of fine ice, add one teaspoonful gum-syrup, two jiggers sherry. Mix well. Trim with fruit. Serve with straws.
