Fancy Brandy Cocktail

3 dash maraschino

Ingredient: maraschino

powdered sugar

Very fine powdered sugar. In industrial food production, it is used where a quick dissolving sugar is required. Powdered sugar is generally mixed with cornstarch, wheat flour, or calcium phosphate to improve its flowing ability, and thus it is not generally used to sweeten beverages, but is used as a garnish.

Fill a mixing-​glass half-​full fine ice, add three dashes maraschino, two dashes Peyschaud or Angostura bitters, one jigger brandy, one dash orange bitters. Mix. Strain into fancy cocktail-​glass, the rim of which has been moistened with a piece of lemon and dipped in powdered sugar, which gives it the appearance of being frosted.
